On June 6, 2016,, graduate students from the Research Master program of Urban Studies at the University of Amsterdam will organise the Consuming the City 2016 symposium.

With an urban lecture, a documentary, an exhibition, and an online blog, a series of questions are posed to understand contemporary urban environments: Is there enough city to consume for everyone? Or are certain groups vying for limited urban space? And how is consumption (re)shaping our city?
