Robert C. Kloosterman is Professor of Economic Geography and Planning at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. He is head of the research group Geographies of Globalisations. Part of his research activities are focused on cultural industries, including music. He has published the rise of black music in the US, on Morrissey, on the clustering of music in urban environments, and – together with Amanda Brandellero - on world music.
