Michiel studied Human Geography and Urban Planning in Amsterdam and completed his MSc in Human Geography at the Univeristy of Amsterdam. His main interests lie in globalisation, economic geography and geopolitics. The visit of Bogotá was part of a research towards the globalisation of Bogotás economy.
